A data center audit is important to an organization and offers a third-party, expert view of all layers of the infrastructure, including networking, file/block, storage, Exchange, VDI, document management, and all aspects of back-end and user-facing components. It is important to start these engagements with level-set conversations, current-state discussions, learning current pain points, focus areas, and business directions that affect users and their effectiveness today and down the road. The audit will come full with findings and recommendations for meaningful and efficient change, and provide documentation that can be used to accelerate the approval process. That way, organizations can make an informed choice and confidently go into a complex VDI solution understanding the components and skillsets needed to enjoy an excellent implementation resulting in happy users, and at the same time, well-managed desktops and applications.
